New UV-LED Technologies for Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers

Abstract: The photocuring of carbon-fiber reinforced polymers was demonstrated to be possible using a robotized LED at 395 nm. In such a case, a dual photochemical/thermal initiating system was developed for both unsaturated and epoxy resins. This work opens new opportunities to speed up the formation of fiber-reinforced polymer by light.
